Kamaluddeen Kamil Kayode
Resident Representative, UNDP
Mr. Kamil Kamaluddeen is UNDP Resident Representative in Chad. Prior to this current appointment in 2020, Kamil has served as UNDP Resident Representative in South Sudan (2018), UNDP Country Director South Sudan (2016), Liberia(2013) and Ghana (2008). KK, as he is more widely known, was Economics Advisor and Head of the Strategy and Policy Unit with UNDP Liberia (2005) and Ghana (2002). He was National Economist, UNDP Nigeria between June 1998 and January 2002. Prior to joining the UN System, KK worked in academia at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria, his alma mater, where he was member of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration (1984-1998) and Head of the Department of Management Studies (1996-1998). For most of his professional career, KK has worked extensively on policies, programmes and partnerships to support countries trying to reform and transition from crisis to stability and sustainable development.
