Leyla Traore
Head of Representation to Ethiopia and the African Union, European Investment Bank
Ms Traoré is the Head of Representation to Ethiopia and the African Union at the European Investment Bank (EIB). Before this nomination, she was the EIB's Head of the Operational Risk Unit after being the EIB's Head of the Global Emerging Markets Risk (GEMs) Unit, where she represented EIB in G20 working groups and forged vital connections with numerous Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). Ms Traoré was instrumental in leading the publication of the first-ever joint GEMs public report on multilateral development banks' credit statistics in emerging markets and developing countries.
Before joining EIB, Ms Traoré served as the Chief Quantitative Risk Officer for the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) from 2013 to 2019, following a career in France's leading investment banks. Engineer in Mathematics from a renowned French engineering school, Ms Traoré also holds several prestigious professional certificates in finance and sustainability, including the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) certificate.
