Maja Ostaszewska made her debut (before graduating from Cracow Theater School in 1996) in “Schindler’s List” by Steven Spielberg and Krystian Lupa’s “Sleepwalkers”. She later starred in “Katyn”, “I’m looking at you Marysia”, “In the name of”, “(Nie)znajomi”, “Never gonna snow again”, “Magnesia”, “In-laws” and in TV series “Czas honoru”, “Recipe for life” and “Klangor”, to name a few.
In 2023, Maja played the main role in the feature film “The Green Border” directed by Agnieszka Holland, Katarzyna Warzecha and Kamila Tarabura. The film won the special jury prize at the 80th Venice Film Festival, where the festival audience received it with a 15-minute standing ovation.
She acted on the stage of the Stary Theater in Krakow, the Dramatic Theater in Warsaw, the National Theater, TR and Och-Teatr.
In 2008 she joined Krzysztof Warlikowski’s ensemble at Nowy Teatr in Warsaw.
Apart from her work Maja has been involved in activities in promotion of human rights, ecology and. animal rights.
