Mathias Mogge was appointed Secretary General of Welthungerhilfe in September 2018. The Agricultural Engineer and Environmental Scientist (MSc) has worked for the organization in various positions since 1998. Since March 2010 until 2018 he was as member of the Executive Management responsible for the International Programs. From 2005 to 2010 he was head of the Department “Knowledge, Innovation, Consulting" which deals with conceptual issues of overseas programs and internal knowledge management processes. As Regional Director in Bamako (Mali), he was responsible for the development and management of programs in Mali, Burkina Faso, Liberia, and Sierra Leone from 2001 to 2005. In an honorary capacity Mathias Moggeserves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF), on the Partnership Council of GAIN (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition) and as a member of the Advisory Board of the International Congress Hidden Hunger organized by the University of Hohenheim.
