ICVA and Islamic Relief, Vice Chair - ICVA / Head of Global Advocacy - Islamic Relief
Shahin Ashraf MBE is a respected philanthropist and civil society leader, boasting over 25 years of extensive experience in various humanitarian, development, and civil society sectors. Known for her strategic insight, she has dedicated her career to serving marginalised communities. Notably, she founded Islamic Relief USA and currently spearheads strategic Advocacy development while actively participating in advocacy and research initiatives. Shahin's expertise spans women's rights, refugee support, and climate change, with a focus on financing and facilitating a just transition. She holds influential positions, including Acting Chair of ICVA and membership on the Strategic Advisory Board for the Humanitarian sector decarbonisation roadmap. Recently re-elected as a councillor and deputy leader for the Solihull Green Party, she passionately advocates for health and social care issues. Her exceptional contributions earned her the MBE from the Queen for services to Interfaith and Community Cohesion, underscoring her remarkable dedication and impact.
